Program expense: $3.5 billion* Unit expense: $30 million The Chengdu J-20, also called "The Mighty Dragon," operates as a stealth, all-weather, twinjet fighter aircraft developed by Chengdu Aerospace Corporation for the PLAAF. It forms part of the J-XX program that started in the 1990s. The J-20 completed its first flight in 2011 and was officially revealed at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in 2016.
